In this piece, “Prides Corner Station” displays Westbrook Fire Department Station 3, located on Route 302 in Westbrook Maine. Sitting front and center is Westbrook Medic 1, one of the two apparatus that respond to the emergencies ringing the bells of the 60 year old station. Initially a volunteer firehouse, Station 3 started its staffing with only one member to drive Engine 3. Fast forward to today, you can find Medic 1 and Engine 3 parked in the bay, each staffed by Firefighter/Paramedics 24/7.
Inspiration for “Prides Corner” started as Sarette began his career staffing Medic 1 as a brand new Paramedic. 3 years later, the small firehouse finds itself the subject of Sarette’s first piece of 2026.
