“Old Warren Block” features the historic building at the intersection of Main Street and Cumberland Street in Westbrook, Maine. This building was built in 1882 as a community center for the many mill workers that made up most the population of the City of Westbrook. Samuel D. Warren commissioned this building in efforts to give back to the community in which fueled the success of his paper mill (now owned and operated by Sappi). The building features a Queen Anne style, with the first two floors made of brick, and the third layered with shingled cladding. The building features several storefronts, office space, and a large common area. Warren Block continues to stand tall at one of the busiest intersections in Westbrook, and remains a significant piece of history from the Industrial Revolution in Maine. The building was designated to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
