“Capture” presents a man standing in stillness, poised against an expansive, near-empty background. Sarette’s use of texture and tone conveys both realism and artistic liberty, with the subject’s gaze suggesting introspection and isolation.
This piece was inspired by a 2018 picture taken of Sarette and was completed in his junior year of high school. The piece won a “Silver Key” award at a statewide high school art show and went on to win a first place ribbon at an art competition later that year.
